The '% off' badge usually overstates it. Across 579 tracked Flipkart listings, the median MRP sits 137% above the product's typical selling price, so an ordinary price already reads as about 58% off. MRP is a list price stores are entitled to show — but it is not a saving. Judge deals against the product's own price chart instead.

Some listings do, but it is not the rule. Across 183 tracked products over the last two Big Billion Days, 19% were selling above their previous month's price in the run-up, at a median markup of around 9%. The rest were flat or already falling — and for 83%, the sale's lowest price genuinely beat the pre-sale price. The chart shows which case yours is.

Usually — the sale low beat the pre-sale price for 83% of the products we tracked, and beat it by more than 10% for 63%. But some products hit their lowest price before the sale opened and never went lower during it. Track the product now, so on day one you are comparing the sale price against its real history rather than the store's claim.

We record Flipkart prices multiple times a day and timestamp every point, so each chart is as accurate as Flipkart's public listing at the time of capture. Watchlisted products are checked more often. Very short flash sales — under about 30 minutes — can occasionally be missed.
